After high school instead of going to college for computers
technology, I would like to go to a vocational school instead.
So, what could be some good qualities about this? Which would
be the better choice?

Ashley, I would strongly encourage you to check out colleges
vs.
vocational schools if you can for a degree in computer technology.
There
are immediate advantages to vocational school - it is usually
less
expensive, and you often graduate in 2 years instead of 4 (or
5), so you
are in the workforce sooner and earning your own income. However,
vocational degrees often take you only so far in the industry,
and often
limit access to better paying jobs, or promotions. At the company
I work
for, for example, our engineers and programmers, and even most
of our
network administrators have 4 year degrees from a University.
We don't
even look at vocational degrees for our higher paying jobs.
So, while
college seems like it takes forever, and it is more expensive
than other
alternatives, in the long run, it's the better option for you.
Your
college diploma, among other things, is a degree in perseverance
and it
will open many many doors for you throughout your career.
Good luck to you!
