Q: (Initially posted on January 23, 2003) FROM MENTEE VANESSA B. IN KY
I am involved with a Health Sciences class at the local vocational school in my area. This is my 2nd year in which we do clinicals at the local nursing home, Dr.'s office's, pharmacy's, Radiology, and more to obtain a CNA license. Since this class I have decided to go into Pharmacy. I was just curious the percentage of female Pharmacists compared to male Pharmacists. Does anyone know or have a guess?

A: FROM MENTOR NICOLE O'HARA IN NJ
I am not sure of the breakdown of numbers of PharmD graduates, in terms of male and female. But I had looked into Pharmacy and learned that it's a really hot field now for women. Many people I talked to said its really conducive to graduating and getting a job quickly - and is flexible so that a person can take time off from work and have a family, etc. Hope that helps:)
