A: FROM MENTOR CAROL TOMAN IL
I don't know if I'd go so far as to believe that there is
fiberglass
in diapers .... I do believe that capitolism has some inherent
flaws. Under this economic system, as long as people want
to go out
for dinner, there will be people earning very little money
by bussing
the tables and washing the dishes. The existance of upper,
middle,
and lower classes is built into the system. Corporations make
short-sighted decisions all the time in their race to make
quarterly
profits right now because the stock market is based on quarterly
results. Let me state that I do not think socialism or a communism
are "better" ... they also have inherent flaws.
Our elected
representatives struggle all the time with trying to get the
benefits
of a free market while providing social justice for the "have-nots".
It's a shame that politicians have given politics a bad name
because
this is a fascinating field of study and we need good people
with high
integrity in our government.
