Q: (Initially posted on February 17, 2003) FROM MENTEE SEANA W. IN HI
My career goal someday is to become an FBI agent. Do you have any advice
that would give me more opportunities and chances of becoming and FBI
agent?

The FBI 's website gives some interesting information and they sponsor
student internships (only for college) but it might be good for you to know
about those for the future. http://www.fbi.gov/employment/employ.htm

Well my first advice is to follow your heart. Do what you truely want to
do and do not let anything try and stop you from doing that. Some other
advice is to do some research on this career goal of yours that you have.
Make sure your happy with what it offers and doesn't offer. Then if you like
what you have maybe you could hang out with a FBI agent, shadow them for a
day or two and see how it is. Ask them question of how did you get into this
field if its not to personal. How did you get where you are today... did you
take classes to help you get into this field and things? Just ask simple
questions. If you have done any of this well keep on working on it and do
not give up. Good Luck
