You should take as many advanced math classes as you can in
high
school to help prepare. You should also take any and all computer
class your school may offer. The more you take in high school,
the better prepared you will be in high school. Also, check
out the
local colleges/local colleges for summer classes. I've had
my daughters
in 1 to 2 week summer camps for web design etc since they
were in elementary school. There may be summer courses as
well.
There are many different aspects to computer science and different
college paths you can take.
There's the actual circuit design/chip design which is more
of an
electrical engineering major. There is computer science which
is
more software programming. There are majors now that focus
on
the graphical and web design areas. There is computer technology
that
is more like network design and IT.
Every college will be a little different in how they define
their
major and curriculum. My suggestion is to look on the web
and
see what the colleges offer.
One example (since its my alma mater) is Purdue. www.purdue.edu
But there are many colleges with good computer/engineering
departments.
Good Luck!

A great background in math and sciences will help with computer
engineering. Take as many of those classes, even if they're
the hard ones sometimes to get familiar with the material.
You might feel like it's not worth taking the classes since
you take many of them over again, but seeing the material
helps because professors go through the concepts really quickly!
In calc, we basically do a section a day. I don't know about
the actualy cs classes, but I know my friends work on programs
a lot, 8 hrs for assignments sometimes, so be prepared and
patient, but don't get scared away if that's what youreally
want to do.
