Q: (Initially posted on March 6, 2003) FROM MENTEE CHRISTIE O. IN WA
I am wondering if anyone can tell me which ivy leagues are known for
their good design program? Or if anyone else knows any other schools that
are known for their good design program. I am not sure if R.I.T.
(Rochester Institute of Technology) would be one of the best schools that
I should consider if I am interested in majoring in design, graphic
design to be specific. That is I am hard of hearing and I need to
consider issues such as making sure that I will be provided a sign
language interpreter and yet given the best education possible while I
can still be exposed to deaf culture as a support group.

A: FROM MENTOR MAMIE MOY IN TX
The premier university for deaf sudents is Gallaudet University. This
is a liberal arts university offering sound undergraduate programs
preparing students for graduate studies. Look at the web site for
more information. www.gallaudet.edu. Good luck.
