Q: (Initially posted on March 3, 2003) FROM MENTEE NICOLE D. IN NY
My goal in life is to become a Psychologist, and I have a love for kids. I
also dreamed one day that I could appear on TV as well. Is there someway I
can do all these things and how?

A: FROM MENTEE ROBYN D. IN CO
I can think of two answers:

You could be a children's psychologist, and do something so great that you
get on TV. -- like a talk show or something.

-or-

You could just be a psychologist, do something so great that you get on TV,
and have kids of your own.

-or- Both!

That's all I can think of... Good Luck!

A: FROM MODERATOR SARAH SHIRK IN IL
Have you thought about being a school psychologist? You might be able to get on the local cable channel to tell the community about ways to improve the psychological health of the children in their community. Stress is a big issue in school these days, and you could think up model ways of alleviating stress or at least helping children deal with stress better. We all have it, but a psychologist can help a student heal after extremely stressful situations like a divorce or injury. Often mental health does not receive as much attention as phyisical health in our schools. You could help to change that!
