A: FROM MENTOR JOAN LUSK IN
RI
You've essentially answered your own question. Engineering
is
involved, at the level of acoustics and sound production,
electronics
and software to handle digitized sound, and as you know to
make the
machines and computers for recording, editing, distributing
etc. As
you get into the software you move from engineering and hardware
to
computer science. There are composers pushing the envelope
to use
computers in music, for the writing or for the sound production
- so
the opportunity exists to combine artistic interests with
SET fields.
And if you're inclined toward law, the problems of copyright
and
distribution of music is a new area for litigation and legislation.
