Q: (Initially posted on June 2, 2003) FROM MENTEE ROBIN B. IN CA
Does anyone know a person (or is a person) who was involved in SET in the
war that just happened in Iraq? If so, what did they (you) do?

A: FROM MENTOR BARB KONTOGIANNIS IN CO
I know several people that worked on technology that was used in the war
in Iraq. In fact, indirectly, I did too. I work on launch vehicles
(rockets) that launch the satellites used by the military for communication
and surveillance. These satellites help tremendously in keeping track of
and communicating with our own troops and allies, and allow us to see where
the opposition is with great precision. I know people who work on the
design and manufacture of tactical weapons (missiles) used, and the
platforms that launch them. I also know people that designed and built the
fighter aircraft and transport aircraft used in the war. I work for a large
aerospace and defense contractor, so I know people all over the country who
make these things possible, and much more, to help guarantee freedom and
security for the people of the United States and the world. Some of this
technology is phenomenal!
