Q: (Initially posted January 7, 2004) FROM STUDENT MEMBER ELIZABETH A. IN CO
I am a senior in high school. I am looking for some scholarships for science. Because I want to go into the Bio technology, maybe into the agriculture. Could you please send me some information about the scholarships? Thank you.

A: FROM MENTOR LESLIE WAITE IN CA
Hi Elizabeth!
I don't know of specific scholarships, but I think Sarah's suggestion
is a good one. Another thing to keep in mind is that all Universities
offer financial aid to students depending on their situation, so your
best bet might be to decide on a list of possible schools where you
would like to go, then contact their financial aid offices to ask
about what kind of financial support they provide to students. And
don't be afraid to consider expensive schools like Ivy League
schools: they frequently offer some of the best financial aid
packages.
Good Luck!

There are many web sites that can direct you to potential scholarships. They key is to try to match your strengths with the scholarship criteria.
Fastweb.com is a site where you can make a profile, and they'll put up the scholarships they think you would qualify for based on your info and interests. They also e-mail you scholarships that have deadlines that are coming up.
