Q: (Initially posted February 6, 2004) FROM STUDENT MEMBER ASHLEY R. IN WA
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have an interesting in making
a career out of studying handwriting, or maybe document analysis. Does
anybody know what kind of a career path that would be? And what classes
I would take in college? Thanks you!

A: FROM MENTOR ROSE CLARK IN PA
Ashley,
Answering as a chemist, the area that seems most applicable to your interests seems to be forensics. In forensics you can do document analysis for forgery and also handwriting analysis to make comparison between a written letter (evidence) with a handwriting sample from a suspect. You can major in criminal justice/ forensics/ forensics chemistry/ or chemistry. It all depends on where your interests/talents are focused. If you have more specific questions just email them in and I will do my best to answer them.
