Q: (Initially posted February 26, 2004) FROM STUDENT MEMBER ELIZABETH A. IN CO
I am a senior this year. I am wondering if I should go into the agricultural side of biotechnology? I have had four years of agriculture at my high school. I want to help the farmers and [am looking at careers that would connect to the farming industry in a positive way.] If you have any suggestions tell me. Thank you.

A: FROM MENTOR NANCY WHITE IN WA
There is a great need for scientists in agriculture. I work with an
organization called the Consultative Group on International Agricultural
Research -- particularly with their gender and diversity efforts and there
is a large need for more women in this field. If you'd like to know more, I
encourage you to look at the CGIAR G&D page:
http://www.genderdiversity.cgiar.org/ (I'd also be happy to link you up
with some women working in this field around the world! I bet they would
love to hear from YOU!)
