Q: (Initially posted March 15, 2004) FROM STUDENT MEMBER SOOJI L. IN NY
Is there any way in which I can prove the properties of Mobius Strips without having to actually make each strip?

A: FROM MENTOR MARTY CHINTALA IN RI
Sooji, thanks for your question- I actually learned more than I had
previously known about Mobius strips when trying to look for an answer
to your question! It seems that you might be able to prove the
properties mathematically and not need to make one, but most of what I
found involved making one. But I am not a physics expert, so I'm not
sure how you would do it. I did find a couple of Science News articles
that might help you and give you links to the mathematical properties of
the strips. The links are:

Good luck and let me know if you do succeed in doing it!
