Janis, Check the links below for Society of Women Engineers,
IEEE, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
These are professional organizations that offer scholarships
to students majoring in engineering and engineering related
fields.

You can also do an internet search for "college scholarships"
"engineering scholarships" etc. Don't overlook local
social, civic, and business organizations in and around your
hometown. Things like Rotary, Lion's Club, Chamber of Commerce,
etc. These organizations sometimes offer one-time monetary
awards to graduating seniors -- your guidance counselor should
be able to help you find out if any are available in your
area. Good Luck!

One organization to look into is the Society of Women Engineers.
SWE awards over $200,000 a year in scholarships to a large
number of students. You can find information here:

Hi, Janis,
I did a google on "computer engineer scholarship"
and came up with aLOT of urls.
I suggest you do that. Also, you can go to the library and
get help from a
librarian. He/she can help you find a reference of sholarships
available. I'm
glad you are looking into scholarships. I have heard that
many scholarships
aren't even handed out because no one applies!! So, please
start applying to as
many as you can!!
Here is a website of scholarships by the Society of Women
Engineers. They hand
out scholarships. So, please apply here.
http://www.societyofwomenengineers.org/scholarships/brochure.aspx
Another url I found lists a bunch of scholarships:
http://scholarships.callernetwork.com/
Get your application in early so that they have time to review
your application
thoroughly and you are not one of a bunch of applications.
Good luck!

Janis,
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) provides scholarships
to female
engineering students. There are two places to look:
* This national organization provides scholarships for students
at all
levels in undergraduate and graduate school. You can find
more
information at
http://www.swe.org/scholarships/brochure.aspx
* There are local SWE sections that also provide scholarships.
For
instance, as a member of the Chicago Regional Section, I know
that CRS
just awarded 7 scholarships for incoming freshmen engineering
students.
Our section provides applications for the scholarships beginning
in
January. If you go to the national SWE website (www.swe.org),
then you
can check out information about the SWE section in your area.
Best of luck!
