Q: (Initially posted July 26, 2004) FROM STUDENT MEMBER AYUSHI R. IN TX
This is my first year taking Advanced Placement courses. Can any one give me any idea what it is going to be like? I have heard from other people that it will be really hard... research papers everyday, and stuff like that. I feel like they are just scaring me. So, I want to hear from the mentors and other students who have taken AP courses at different schools.

A: FROM MENTOR BRENDA WOLFE IN CO
It has been many years since I took AP classes - but the workload was not that bad. I was still able to participate in sports and band. Just because the classes cover harder material does not mean that the work load should double. Science and math always have homework anyway so there really is no difference. AP History was a litle more reading - but no a lot of research paprs.
I would suggest you talk directly with the teachers who will be instructing these classes to see what their plan is.
