Q: (Initially posted February 15, 2005) FROM STUDENT MEMBER SUNG C. IN TX
Hello mentors. I am looking for a summer program related to science and technology, and I have found a couple, the Welch's summer science program and the SSP (summer science program). The Welch's SSP is offered at the Texas Universities, and my teacher recommended that to me. The SSP is offered at either California or New Mexico. I'm debating with myself on which one to apply to. I think neither one is easy to get in , though. so... if anybody knows if these programs are worth going for and prestigious, please leave a response! Thank you!

A: FROM MENTOR JOAN LUSK IN RI
I don't know anything about these specific programs, but it's perfectly OK
to apply to any and all. If you're accepted by more than one, of course
you have to choose; and in fairness to people on the waiting list you would
notify promptly the one(s) you won't be able to attend. That's the way the
world works.
Good luck finding an exciting program!
