derby, in which we are suppose to design a car that is powered only by a
mouse trap. We will get points on its straightness and its distance. Could
someone please send some ideas that would help us design a vehicle powered
by the spring of a mousetrap? I am specifically interested in how the
mousetrap can power a car.

There was a chance for our AP bio class to draw pictures [to describe what you imagine] when you hear the word "scientist," and the result was that most of the scientists were males. We go to an all girl school, and we know that there are female scientists, but as a professional, why do you think 80% of our classmates drew men for that field? Are there other reasons besides, "men historically dominated science?"

I have always wanted to teach special education or work with young children.
But, teachers do not get paid enough. What career would you suggest that
deals with young children, but also makes a pretty good salary?

Also-What are some places that I can volunteer at that will
help me with becoming an engineer. Currently, I
volunteer at a hospital and at the community center
calling bingo numbers but neither of these volunteer
jobs help me with learning something about physics or
math. If I was planning on becoming a doctor, then the
hospital would be a good place, but I want to learn
more about engineering. Also I was wondering if there
were any other programs for 16 year olds that are
academically informative about physics and math.

I'm on vocational track in school. I haven't ever really thought about going to college. I always thought I would go to vocational school. I'm a Junior in High school so, even though I'm on Vocational track, can I still go to college?

It isn't summer until a several months from now, but I am thinking ahead and am curious if there's anyone who would know what summer programs there would be that are available to 16 year olds? I am looking for a good academic but fun structured summer program to join. It could be somewhere within Washington State or even out of state or abroad.

English is not my first language, and I only moved to the US two years ago. Because of this my PSAT scores
were much lower than my math. I was wondering how the
colleges would weigh this factor. Also many colleges
require the SAT II Writing exam, which I probably
would not do good on either. Is there an alternative
exam that I can give?
