First of all, I must say that the presentation at Vernon Twp. H.S on Engineering was great. It help me so much. I use to think I wanted to go to William Paterson for nursing, but I went to NJIT, and I realized I had an interest in Biomedical Engineering. I got accepted to William Paterson, and it said it had a Biomedical field. I'm not sure if I should go to that school, or should I try to apply to a school with that specific field. Although I like biomedical [careers], I'm not sure if I can actually do it. Therefore I wouldn't want to go to an Engineering school. But I definitely know I want to do something with nursing or the medical field. What do you think I should do?

I am currently a Junior, with a heavy course load, and an out-of-school
paying internship, no time, and am in serious need of help. As most mentors know, knowing how to study is crucial for survival in the
final years of high school, as well as college. And I've survived so
far on sheer luck on my side, but my luck is sliding, and I
desperately need some pointers on how to study, what kind of studying
is most effective, how to study for physics(ahh!!), and so on and so
forth. I'm not sure what kind of information may be useful to the
mentors, so .. My classes include: AP US Hist, AP Physics B, AP
Language, Gftd. PreCal, and I usually review the notes given each day.
Any advice is appreciated!! Thank you in advance!!!

I know I want to be an engineer when I am older. I sometimes have second thoughts,but mostly in what type of specific field to go into or where I would like to work. This summer I was an intern for the transportation eng. department, and I met some really nice people and learned a lot, not just about engineering in general but about the professional side of the job. My question is what should I do now that I am a junior in high school to be prepared for the future? I have heard that its important to be well rounded but how can I achieve that? I want to ask engineers or anyone else what their experience was in high school? Did it help later on? Or would you rather have done something else to be better prepared? Thank you in advance.

I have four AP classes - AP Bio, AP Chem, AP US History, and AP Composition.
The last three are taught by demanding teachers and I am learning a lot. My
Biology teacher is awful. She has dumbed the class, homework, and
expectations down to the level that helps the slowest students in the class.
In my school anyone can sign up for AP classes even if they aren't ready.
This means that out of fifty five chapters we need to cover, we have only
completed six. Today we learned a bio song for fifth graders and our
homework was to collect a few recycle packages to use to build a model. This
is the only bio teacher and there isn't another class to change into as an
option. I love biology, too and wouldn't care if I had a lot of work and had
to study hard. This situation makes me so mad. I am being cheated out of
learning.
My question is about what to do about the test at the end of the year. I
have taken only one AP before. I earned the highest rating. I know how much
work must be done so that a high rating can be earned and I don't mind doing
the work. The three AP's I'm taking with tough teachers will prepare me to
have a chance at a high rating so I will take those tests. But I don't want
to take the bio test because I will not be prepared to take it. My low score
will look like I didn't care, didn't study, didn't learn the material, etc.
No one will look at the score and think, "She must have had a teacher who
should have been teaching fifth graders and not an AP course." It will be
assumed I was the one with the problem. Also, I will not be prepared to take
the SAT2 Bio exam because I won't be prepared for that either. Double also,
I will not be as prepared to take the next level in college even though I
could have been. Can you see why I am angry about this?
So, do I avoid taking the AP bio test? How about not taking the SAT2? I am
not asking you to tell me what to do but I do need insight so I can make up
my mind.

We are competing in a TSA competition where we had to find an environmental
problem, and solution to the problem. Our research found that sea lettuce
and other harmful algaes are polluting the water. We also found the other
production of these algaes is a high content of nitrogen in the water. We
were wondering if you had any suggestions on how to lower nitrogen levels,
or take it out of the water. Is this possible? How could it be done? Also,
if you have any other suggestions of resources for us that would be
appreciated.

In my AP biology class, we just learned about DNA technology. Specifically the process of DNA "cloning". By cloning the gene that codes for insulin one can produces insulin in large amounts for diabetics. I was wondering, why couldn't they extract cells from a diabetic's pancreas and then inject the insulin gene into it? My teacher said it was because the cells that were re-injected back into the pancreas did not replicate. Why don't they? Are they working on different methods to get insulin to diabetics with out daily injections? How exactly does the insulin administered from a pill form work in the body? Thanks!

Hi! I am a senior in high school who is very confused about her future plans for college. When I was filling out my applications for college [finally finished! ] I had to indicate my interests in a major (or at least pick my top three). I know that I want to pursue a career in Medicine, however am VERY unsure about my major as an undergraduate student. Could you maybe suggest some majors that might help me in the future (as a graduate student)? Although I have a strong interest in Chemistry, I have a passion for Economics and Mathematics. Is it okay to declare a double-major in Economics and Mathematics or double-major in Economics and Chemistry, or is it more beneficial to take Chemistry or other sciences? Thanks a bunch in advance!

Hello, I'm a senior in high school trying to figure out what i want to do with the rest of my life. I want to be an Engineer but I have really bad math grades and I'm not really good at it.
