Q: Initially posted November 1, 2004 FROM STUDENT MEMBER ASHLEY C. IN PA
I am interested in Nanotechnological sciences. Could tell me what are some of the best schools to go to in order to get a degree in this field? Also, what are some of the positions that are available in nanotechnology?

Q: Initially posted November 1, 2004 FROM STUDENT MEMBER ALEXIS K. IN GERMANY
I have a new love. It's name is nanotechnology. Who knew? I had other ideas
about what I wanted to do in college and now I am in love with
nanotechnology. The problem is that I am coming at it from a simple place. I
don't really understand what I need to study in college, what I would major
in, or where I should consider going to school. If I search college sites
and put in nanotechnology in the subject search, I always get" No results
found." HELP! I want to know what colleges to narrow into and who I could
contact at the schools to ask questions. I need to know if I am taking the
right courses in my junior year and what to do for senior year. Also, does
anyone know if there is a college that combines nanotechnology and medicine
or neuroscience? I would love to be able to heal people with
nantechnological advances.

My phone was recently run over by a car. I took it to a Verizon
store to get a new one and get numbers downloaded into the new one from
the damaged one, but only 4 numbers were transferred over. I don't understand how
only some numbers can get transferred over, but not all of them,
I just feel like it is one of those things that should be all or
nothing. Can you explain this to me?

Hi,
I'm a senior in high school trying to decide where I should go to
college. Many people have given me the pitch about a liberal arts
education being invaluable, but I wonder how will it benefit me as an
engineer? My college dilemma is between three schools: Smith College,
Carnegie Mellon University, and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Obviously, CMU has an excellent reputation in engineering, and RHIT is
top ranked among schools not offering PhD's. Smith has a new engineering
program, and I really like the school, but question if I will be able to
get a good job in engineering after graduating.
So, if you or someone you know went to a liberal arts school and ended
up in engineering, I would be interested to hear your take on the
situation. Thanks.

I'm currently a senior and I am working on my applications...
Is it true that you have a better chance of getting in to a college if you go for an undecided major and if so would you recommend it?
A: http://www.uic.edu/orgs/gem-set/archive041101q3.htm
Another concern is I want to be an optometrist but I have to go to college in Pittsburgh (either Duquense or Pittsburgh University) because I can't live without my family. But I hear that they don't offer optometry and Pittsburgh University only offers Ophthalmology. How many years would I have to study, and can I stay in Pittsburgh to complete my education? Can anyone help enlighten me on the whole PreMed process?

They gave us a topic of "legacy leaders." Since its such a big topic it is hard to narrow it down so if you could give me a direction I can go that would be great. Thanks.
