I was born on the Makah Indian reservation in Neah Bay, Washington.
My family moved from Neah Bay when I started school though we spent
every summer there running our fishing marina. I had the best of
both worlds, I spent summers in paradise, riding horses, fishing,
swimming in the ocean and playing on the beach. The rest of the
year, I spent in the city of Seattle with my family, going to movies,
spending time with my friends and attending school.
After graduating from Ingraham High School in Seattle I studied
commercial art at the Art Institute of Seattle and Shoreline Community
College. After college, I started working for the American Indian
Heritage School. I was the registrar and athletic director and worked
closely with students hosting and traveling to pow wows and other
events. I had been working at American Indian Heritage School for
seven years when I was asked to apply for a position on the Help
Desk for Seattle Public Schools, which provided support to district
employees with hardware, software and networking issues. I was soon
teaching computer classes for district employees, on Student Information
System software and a variety of applications. My background in
art was the perfect lead-in to producing web sites. I loved the
creativitiy. I helped to start the district's intranet and was soon
teaching classes in web design and supporting departments and schools
throughout the district to create and maintain their web sites.
I now work with a variety of businesses , organizations and individuals
to create and maintain their web presence. In my off-line hours,
I enjoy spending time with my family, camping in Neah Bay with our
two dogs as well as beading, reading and gardening.
