I graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in
Engineering degree, with majors in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering.
Upon graduation I worked for IBM in new product testing in Charlotte,
NC. During my career I moved to Lexington, KY and into management
and obtained an MBA from the University of Kentucky. I have managed
engineers in product testing, product engineering (production line
and customer technical support) and product development. I am currently
a Product Manager for printer products at Lexmark International.
The most exciting parts of my career include assisting in the career
growth of other engineers, completing the development cycle on products
and seeing the products enter the market, and having the opportunity
to travel and conduct business internationally.
The toughest barrier I have had to overcome in my career has been
in deciding for myself what I wanted to accomplish. I've had great
support from my managers and other leaders in the company throughout
my career. The hard part has been determining what career path interests
me most and being patient to prepare for the necessary steps to
achieve my goals.
