Ellen Grant Piccioli received the B.S. in Electrical Engineering
from Cornell University in 1986, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Michigan in 1991. After working at Digital
Equipment Corporation from 1986 to 1989 as a Yield Enhancement Engineer,
Ellen received a fellowship from Digital to pursue graduate education.
Ellen returned to Digital's Advanced Semiconductor Development Group
as a Device Engineer from 1991 to 1994. From 1994 to 1998, Ellen
drove test chip development for advanced CMOS technology development
for Digital's Semiconductor division. Following the acquisition
of Digital by Compaq, Ellen worked with Compaq's external semiconductor
foundry suppliers, ultimately becoming a Foundry Technical Coordinator.
Ellen later joined Hewlett-Packard's Alpha microprocessor design
group, first leading a Box Design Team, and more recently leading
all Alpha 21364 design implementation activities. Parallel to this
role, Ellen drove the Speed Debug team responsible for delivering
circuit edits for 21364 microprocessor speed improvement. Currently,
Ellen leads the Alpha Product Development Team and drives project
management for the next generation Alpha microprocessor. Ellen served
as Tutorial Chairperson for the 2000 IEEE ICMTS (International Conference
on Microelectronic Test Structures), and was a member of the ICMTS
Technical Committee. Ellen has been a member of IEEE and SWE.
