  4. Most Exciting Part of Career:
The most exciting part of my career to date is the ability to work in many different functional areas of the automotive business. Having both Engineering and Business degrees makes me qualified for a broad cross section of job functions. The most enjoyable jobs have been those where I have interacted with many different people on hands-on projects. It's always fun to take the product home for friends and family to evaluate.
  5. Toughest Barriers to Overcome to Reach Current Position:
The toughest barriers that I have had to overcome recently are finding a flexible job that allows me more time with my family, while still remaining in a "mainstream" work assignment. Typically, when people choose to work part-time or as a job-share, the only jobs available are "side assignments" that will not help direct a career up the promotion ladder. It is a challenge to remain visible and be seen as a valuable contributor when in a part-time assignment. I am trying to change the corporate stigma attached to part-time workers, and prove that I am efficient and focused enough to handle the responsibilities at work.
