Work Experience:
I currently work for a large Fortune 500 firm as a Program Manager in the Medical Division. Daily tasks include project budgeting, scheduling, design review, resource management and lots of meetings! I have a large advantage in my job because of my engineering background. I can communicate with the engineers and understand their work. Before working with Sanmina-SCI and UMM electronics in the medical field, I worked with a start-up company out of Purdue University started by one of my Professors. I was able to experience firsthand the excitement and heartache of trying to start a new company.

The best part of my job is…
Being able to work on products used to help better the quality of life. I can actually see products I've worked on in use by doctors, in commercials, even at the store.

My advice to the next generation of engineers would be:
Don't be fooled by the stereotypes of the engineering profession. It is not just for men, and is not boring work. Many women I have spoken to that did not go into Electrical Engineering said they didn't even consider it because it seemed like such a nerdy profession. UNTRUE! Electrical Engineers get to work with all the latest technologies. You make the job as fun and cool as you want. And the profession is in dire need of women because many times they bring better communication skills and personality to the table.
