My interest in engineering and science began at a young age, inspired by two parents in engineering fields who would point to things and explain to me how they worked. My teachers encouraged me further by suggesting I take higher-level math and science classes. I excelled in these classes and found myself reading science magazines to learn more.

I attended Lehigh University where I obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and then moved on to Stanford University, where I obtained an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering Design.

After graduating, I quickly gravitated toward software and ended up starting a web applications software company, which is what I am still doing currently. The most exciting part of my career is being able to work for myself doing something that I really enjoy.

Though I have been lucky enough to have great support along the way I have found that on occasion I have been required to work a little harder to earn the respect I deserve in the classroom and in the workplace. I have overcome this barrier by simply doing my best, and am happy to say that I am viewed as an equal by all of my peers - male and female alike.
