
Marie Hutchinson is currently employed at Hamilton Sundstrand in
San Diego, California as an Airline Account Representative. Hamilton
Sundstrand Power Systems manufactures auxiliary power units (APU)
which provide power and air pressure to the aircraft when the main
engines are not running. Marie currently works with customers that
require repair sales and customer support services for their APU's.
Marie's main experience is with main aircraft engines during her
13 years at Pratt & Whitney. Marie started as a design and project
engineer for Pratt & Whitney working on the MD80 and 777 aircraft
engines. Marie earned an MBA from the University of Connecticut
going to night school after earning a BSME from Worcester Polytechnic
Institute. Shortly after receiving the MBA, Marie moved into Marketing
and then into Sales. Marie's sales region was China, Korea and Australia.
Marie has also worked with aircraft leasing companies that purchase
aircraft as an asset and earn revenue from lease.
Marie enjoys working with international airline customers, especially
in Asia, because they are so unpredictable and always come up with
interesting problems. Marie enjoys solving the customers' problems
which often include coordinating design improvements.
Marie has worked in a variety of volunteer roles within the community.
She has always wanted to help young women with their career decisions.
