My path to "high tech" has been diverse! In school,
I studied marine botany
and public policy and spent a lot of time doing musical theater
and playing
in a bluegrass band. I spent 8 years in broadcasting and then worked
7 in
the non-profit world until I was recruited to run a small Internet
startup.
I fell into the Internet like I was made for it, discovering online
interaction and virtual community.
In 1997 I launched my own company weaving together my skills: high
tech,
managment, communications, non-profits, teaching, writing... you
name it. By
following my passion, I'm told I'm now one of the leading experts
in online
facilitation. This amazes me (and I take it with a huge grain of
salt) but
confirms that by strenthening and following your passion, you can
do amazing
things. Diverse experiences, skills and interests can be woven together
for
a fulfilling career!
