Sandra founded Scanlon Consulting Services, an electrical and mechanical
design and consulting firm, in 1997 after eight years of experience
at Amoco Corporation. She serves industrial, institutional, and
commercial clients providing design, drafting, consulting and peer
review services. She is a registered professional engineer and has
a BS in, electrical engineering from Valparaiso University where
she helped form the Society 01 Women Engineers (SWE) student section.
She is a Senior Life Member of SWE and received the SWE Distinguished
New Engineer Award in 1998. She was co-chair of the 2001 National
Conference and is in her second year as the national Electronic
Communications Committee Chair. She has also been active on the
national Membership Committee since 1995, including two years as
chair. She is currently the President of the SWE Rocky Mountain
Section. In addition, she serves on the Advisory Board for the new
Denver School of Science and Technology, teaches Sunday school,
and the treasurer of the parent organization at her son's school,
Meritor Academy at Grant Ranch.
