Tracy Roethlein is an Engineering Program Manager at Marconi Communications, a telecommunications equipment manufacturer. Tracy's role is managing an engineering project from technological conceptions through release to production- The main focus of Tracy's responsibilities is to develop the project plan, which includes the schedule, staffing requirements and budget to development a new product. The most interesting part of her job is the ability to facilitate communication from engineering to all other departments within the organization, such as product management, marketing, manufacturing and services. This allows for much diversity and the ability to learn all aspects of the business. The most difficult aspect is resolving conflicts for resources with other project teams, as many of the supporting project resources split their time among several projects.

The first 4 years, she was the manager of the customer services group, where she was responsible for a department that generated sales interest in the products and Prior to Marconi, managed the procurement process between the customers and the factory. Tracy worked for Johnson Controls Network Integration Services as their Manager of Marketing Communications and at Legent as their Project Manager of Customer Meetings.

Tracy is currently working for her Bachelor of Science in Business Management at La Roche College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tracy has been fortunate to work for fast growing technological start-up companies that promoted hardworking employees from within. She has learned that diligence can be rewarded if, and only if, you are willing to seize opportunities when they arise or often times, create an opportw1ity by uncovering an unresolved need.
