I am a Senior Project Controls Engineer with SNC-Lavalin Constructors Inc./NEPCO (Former ENRON), Redmond, WA. I have 8 years extensive International experience in Project Planning, Scheduling, Monitoring and Cost Engineering for Combined Cycle Natural Gas Power Projects from 166 MW to 1450 MW. I have been fortunate enough to work with the biggest names in the world of construction & energy. Also have 18 months teaching experience as a Faculty in the Masters in Construction management Program in my alma mater in India. I utilized my teaching days to Co-author a book Civil Engineering & Construction Management Services in SAARC Countries, NICMAR Publication, 1999. At present I am the lead Project Controls Engineer for a 1140 MW CCPP near Chicago, IL. A topper in academics throughout, my qualifications include Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Masters in Construction Project Management and Masters in Ecology & Environment from India. I am also a certified Cost Engineer from AACE. One advise - take your education seriously & get it early. It pays rich dividends not only in terms of better emoluments and positions but widens the thought process in ways you never think possible. Being a woman engineer did not come in my way because of the way that was paved by women engineers in early 20th century. The road has only become easier! Remember, you are in a country that has the most opportunities in the world.
