This section of the site lists upcoming conferences that might be of interest for those involved with GNR-MENA. The conference calendar will be updated as new conferences approach. If you have any conferences you would like to suggest, send the information to Sara Vogt (svogt1@uic.edu)

Also, GNR-MENA has had the opportunity to organize meetings and conferences. Descriptions and summaries of these meetings can be found below.

In order to view our session, please click on the above link. You will then be routed to the Virtual Village page. In order to find our video, go to the box that says "Village Events on Video" and click "Videos". You then need to scroll down about 1/2 way to find the video, entitled: "HIV/AIDS in the Middle East and North Africa." Once within our box, you can click "Real Media Video" (the Windows Media link doesn't seem to be working) to view the session. Depending on your internet speed, it may take a while to open the streaming video.

In November of 2005 GNR-MENA members organized a Thematic Conversation at the 2005 Middle East Studies Association Meeting held in Washington, DC. A summary of this event can be found here.

In April 2003, there was an initial workshop held at the University of Illinois-Chicago. It was during this workshop that GNR-MENA was founded. Summaries for the sessions of that particular workshop can be found here.

Since the April 2003 workshop, GNR-MENA held a successful Satellite Meeting at the XV International AIDS Conference in Bangkok (July 2004).  This was our first organized event. Our meeting was the only session at the conference devoted entirely to issues of HIV/AIDS in MENA. More information can be found here about this event here.
