space is at a premium | Due to a huge manufacturing convention, hotel space in Chicago during the weekend of our conference is very tight. We expect rooms being held for the manufacuring conference will be released shortly and that we can contract for some of these for our conference. Once they are secured, we will list them here. We encourage you to book rooms quickly before all of the spaces are taken. We expect rooms go fast! |
Please check out our HANDY TIPS on getting a room. When calling for rooms, remember to say that you are with Creating Healthy Lives to get the conference rate.
Community housing: We also are in the process of soliciting free
community housing for those with limited resources. If you need this option,
please complete the requested information on the conference registration
form.|
If you can provide space for a conference attendee, please call the Lesbian
Community Cancer Project at 773-561-4662 or email them at lccp@enteract.com.
There is a free hotel referral service that you can contact for help in finding a room. Creating Healthy Lives does not endorse this business but, if hotel space becomes very tight, conference registrants may want to consider it.
Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) provides transportation resources for the Chicagoland area. This site offers fare information, detailed maps, and bus & "el" train schedules. The nearest "el" stop to the Creating Healthy Lives Conference is "Halsted/UIC" on the Blue line (exit at the east end of the station - go right onto Halsted and walk south to Chicago Circle Center - a little over a city block).
Subway Navigator- helps you compute total travel time and the number of stops between start and end destinations (Caution: This site is getting dated and travel times may be a little inaccurate). It can be really helpful for those staying in Lakeview (you have to transfer trains downtown from the red line to the blue line to get to UIC).
