The Chicago Black Ghetto has not disappeared as Chicago has been undergoing the 1990s economic boom. According to 2000 census figures,the ghetto has stabilized as two large areas on the west and south side of Chicago. The yellow marks census tracts that are between 90% and 100% Black. The dark grey areas, mainly in the suburbs, are 90%-100% white.The bright blue areas are 90%-100% Hispanic. Red areas are 50%-90% Asian. |
