The Non Adjacent Spaces of Wealth and Poverty in Chicago

The Distribution of Currency Exchanges and

The Distribution of Starbucks Coffeehouses.

The green dots represent the location of Currency Exchanges in Chicago. Notice how evenly distributed they are in a semi- circle surrounding the downtown.

The Starbucks coffeehouses, on the other hand are concentrated in the Loop, the Gold Coast and the gentrifying areas of the near north side

The far south side, which is the poorest areas of Chicago, apparently don't even qualify for a Currency Exchange.

The spaces of wealth and poverty are segmented and separate.
