Dr. Robert A. Stokes is directly responsible for planning and leading the operation of the five Centers of Excellence that make up the GTI Research and Deployment Division. These groups develop and apply technology solutions under contract to a range of clients, including government agencies and private companies as well as the natural gas industry. Each Center is headed by a director who reports to Dr. Stokes.
Before joining GTI (then called the Institute of Gas Technology) in 1999, Dr. Stokes was Vice President of Environment and Energy at the Southern Research Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, directing R&D programs for private-sector and government clients in fossil fuel use and pollution control.
Dr. Stokes has worked with DOE on collaborative projects to apply renewable energy technology in more than a half-dozen foreign countries.
Dr. Stokes earned a B.S. degree in physics from the University of Kentucky, as well as M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from Princeton University. He recently completed the Executive Management Program at the University of Michigan Business School in Ann Arbor. He has more than 50 professional publications to his credit. |
