Michael A. Brown received his BS Eng, MS and PhD degrees from UIC and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He had a two year appointment as a visiting scholar in the UIC department of Mechanical Engineering.
Employed for the last twenty years by Abbott Laboratories located in Lake County, Illinois, his most current position is Manager of Manufacturing Engineering for the Diagnostics Division. He is responsible for world wide engineering design and program management.
Dr. Brown's emphasis is in the design and development of thermoplastic devices for medical diagnostic applications, injection and blow molding process's and high cavitation tooling design, polymer physics, SPC, aseptic filling operations, manufacturing automation to support high throughput plastic part assembly and continuous multi-layer web laminating processes. He has significant experience in the organization of Common Process and Test Method validations, cGMP Design Control and equipment qualification procedures. |
