Patient Safety Leadership
Through a multidisciplinary approach to education and training, the Patient Safety Leadership program, designed by the College of Medicine at UIC, enables working professionals and health care organizations to affect positive change in all aspects of patient care, from the bedside to facility design, including administration, academia, government, accreditation and clinical associations.
The Patient Safety Leadership program can provide you with the education and training necessary to improve the quality of medical care. The program endeavors to break the cycle of medical error and improve the safety of patients who participate in the health care system through education, leadership training, and evidence-based course objectives. The program consists of nine 4-credit-hour courses for a total of 36 credit hours. A minimum grade-point average of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) for the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework is required for admission.
Not enough time to complete a Master's degree? You can also earn a Graduate Certificate in Patient Safety, Error Science and Full Disclosure. You can apply your credits toward the Master of Science in Patient Safety Leadership or toward other continuing education requirements.
