UIC is pleased to host the Renewing and Redeeming Society conference on our campus here in Chicago. Here are some links to help you explore the city.

 OutChicago: Chicago Area Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Directory: A directory of community organizations & nonprofit resources, entertainment & nightlife, businesses/commercial services, community calendars & announcements, and more.

 Harry Carter's Gay & Lesbian Chicago Information: includes Harry's Gay & Lesbian Bar Guide, listings of places to shop, places to stay, newspapers, upcoming special events, and other resources for Chicago.

 Alternative Phonebook: Chicago's Lesbigay Yellow Pages: an on-line phone directory. You have to click on each letter to get the categories for that letter. This can be confusing if you are unsure what they are calling the category you need to search.

 Chicago Mosaic: The City of Chicago's home page includes an interactive downtown Chicago map and an electronic tour.

 Yahoo! Chicago: This site includes GLB resources, info on Chicagoland History & Architecture, Music, Theater, Restaurants, Maps and Views, News, Sports and Recreation, Transportation (Traffic, Mass Transit, Airlines), and Points of Interest.

 Digital City Chicago (This site, sponsored by the Chicago Tribune, offers information/links on Chicago news, sports, a detailed arts and entertainment guide, and extensive tourist information. A lesbigay section is being developed now. The site also gives information on Chicago neighborhoods, commentary, photos, etc.)

 Citynet's Chicago listings: area attractions, arts and entertainment, businesses, city guides, education, events, food and drink, government, lodging, museums, news and weather, parks and gardens, sports, transportation, travel and tourism.

 Centerstage Chicago: This site has a very comprehensive information on entertinament in Chicago and it has a great virtual "L."

 Dive-in Chicago. This site provides information on dining, nightlife, concerts, sports, news & weather, and more (the rest is mostly of interest to current or prospective Chicago area residents).

 The Gordon Lake Chicago Web (best of Chicago on the Internet - not a lesbigay site)

 World Beat- Chicago (HotWired's Rough Guide to: the basics, eat, sleep, drink, sports)

 Chicago O'Hare International Airport (QuickAID to ground transportation, visitors information, airlines, terminal map and the Airport Yellow Pages)

 Chicago Midway Airport (Less user-friendly web site than O'Hare's, you can see an airport map, find out what airlines serve Midway, and even get a history lesson)

 Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) site offers information on its bus and train ("L") fares, maps, schedules, and direct train connections to the two airports

 Chicago's Metra Commuter Rail Transportation System: General Information, Ticket Information, Metra News, Metra Schedules, and Metra Map

 Illinois Dept. of Transportation Expressway Congestion Map (alert: this site is often busy - be patient)
