As agencies begin to cope with the changing demands of their clientele due to aging, the RRTC will be called upon more often to aid and provide information on program development and individual clinical issues. The RRTC will continue to provide TA to a grass-roots consortium of 20 Chicago area agencies to articulate needs for research, share curriculum and approaches, and develop new initiatives. One of the group’s key issues is the need for more information that is practical and is geared to the provider, such as curricula that could be used to train direct support staff to better meet the needs of older persons with I/DD.
