National Rehabilitation Information Center Federally funded by NIDRR (National Institute on Disability Rehabilitation and Research) as a collection and information resource for NIDRR projects.

National Center for the Dissemination of Disability Research (NCDDR) is a pilot project designed to help the National Institute on Disability Rehabilitation and Research(NIDRR) funded researchers publicize the results of their research.

National Resource Center on Community Integration Distributes bulletins, research reports, articles, information packages, and other materials on a broad range of topics related to integration or inclusion for people with disabilities, and specifically those who have been labeled mentally retarded and developmentally disabled.

RRTC on Health and Wellness The RRTC on Health and Wellness is a Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) to conduct research and training to support the health and wellness of persons with long term disabilities. Intended to specifically address the conditions of cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, post-polio syndrome, amputation and spinal cord injury, we believe the web site will be of interest and value to all persons with disabilities, and, in fact, all persons without disabilities as well.

The Institute on Community Integration The Institute on Community Integration, a University Affiliated Program at the University of Minnesota, is dedicated to improving community services for people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Internetwork Institute at San Diego State University The Internetwork Institute is comprised of two divisions; the Rehabilitation Continuing Education Efforts and Special Education. All efforts focus on promoting the integration of individuals with disabilities into all aspects of school, work, family and community life.

National Clearinghouse of Rehabilitation Materials The National Clearinghouse of Rehabilitation Materials provides a wide variety of disability related training resources, locates, collects and distributes a wide variety of training materials such as participant and trainer manuals, videos, syllabi and curricula from publicly funded rehabilitation training programs for rehabilitation practitioners in state, federal and private agencies nationwide, provides reference and research services, and locates and delivers training materials to your doorstep.

International Association  for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disabilities (IASSID): Special  Interest Group on Aging and Intellectual Disability (SIRGAID) The Special Interest Research Group on Aging and Intellectual Disability of the International Association for the Scientific Study on Intellectual Disabilities (IASSID) is an international network of researchers, clinicians, providers, administrators, and others who are interested in furthering the study of aging in people with intellectual disabilities.

Developmental Disabilities Center This web site from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada provides information on developmental disabilities, including abstracts from the journal Developmental Disabilities Bulletin, and information on ICAD-L, and a listserv on abuse and violence in the lives of people with developmental disabilities.

The Center for International Rehabilitation Research Information and Exchange (CIRRIE) A web site from the University of Buffalo. The mission of CIRRIE is to facilitate the sharing of information and expertise in rehabilitation research between the U.S. and other countries.

International Network for Research in Elder Care ( INREC ) The International Network for Research on Elder Care (INREC), founded in 1998, comprises a group of social and behavioral-science researchers from five countries whose interests lie at the intersection of several topics: the demography of population aging and of family and social-support networks in old age; patterns and trends in disease, functioning, and disabilities that give rise to needs for personal care in old age; and patterns of exchange and support between generations, including the care received by older persons unable to live independently; the respective roles of family members and of formal or institutional service providers in those care patterns; and the impact of public policies on those patterns.

Equip for Equality This is a private, nonprofit organization that operates the federally mandated Protection & Advocacy System for Illinois, which safeguards the rights of children and adults with physical and mental disabilities (including developmental disabilities and mental illnesses). They offer help with advocacy, legal services and with other special projects as well.

The Illinois Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities (IPCDD) (IPCDD) believes in and supports the independence, productivity, integration and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities of all ages.

American Society on Aging - Network on Environments, Services and Technologies to  Maximize  Independence (NEST) NEST brings together professionals working with older adults who have life-long and late-life physical, sensory and/or cognitive disabilities. Maximizing Human Potential is the quarterly newsletter designed to share information across aging, rehabilitation and disability systems about best practices and innovative programs; research that describes the need for assistive environments, services and technologies and evaluates their impact on function, behavior, quality of life and quality of care; trends in policy and funding, and strategies for advocacy and systems change.
