settings including individuals living with their families.

service agency staff, families
Product Output

that incorporates the Maintaining Communication and Independence Program to
support people with dementia.

on effectively structuring time, and adapting day activity and residential environments
to meet dementia needs.
Progress to Date
The workshop
curriculum on dementia care management has been developed and workshops have
been provided on an "as requested" basis. Consultation on matters
related to dementia has been provided in person and via telephone and email.
Utility of Training
Identified that many agencies first need a workshop the basics of dementia and their implications for adults with I/DD. Through this training agencies learn how to accommodate older adults with dementia in residential settings.
