Holiday Luncheon

The annual holiday luncheon was held at the Parthenon restaurant in Greektown, Chicago on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Entertainment was provided by UIC Emeritus Professor William Kaplan. Fall Membership Meeting

The Fall membership meeting was held October 19, 2011 in the UIC Student Center West (SCW). The chairman of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees, Christopher Kennedy, spoke on "Research Universities and the Future of Our State". The Chapter thanks Program director Donna Knutson and Social director Rose Kirk for arranging a splendid meeting and luncheon. Fall Public Policy Forum

The annual Fall public policy forum was held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 in the UIC Student Center West. The topic was: "Charting the Course Toward Illinois Solvency." The panelists were: Illinois Senator Heather Steans, Republican Caucus Chair Senator Matt Murphy, and Ralph Martire, Executive Director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability. The moderator was Prof. Paul Green,Director of the Institute for Politics at Roosevelt University. Thank you to UIC UNITED Board members Richard Johnson, for organizing the program; Donna Knutson and Rose Kirk, for making the arrangements; and Marsha Borders and Irv Miller, along with chapter member Barbara French, for assisting at the Registration table. Special thanks also go to our colleagues from APAC for cosponsoring the event and assisting with registration.
