Matthew Brown, M.D.
Program Director
Dr. Matthew Brown received his medical degree from the
University of Iowa, and is a graduate of the MacNeal Family Practice
Residency in Berwyn, Illinois. He completed a fellowship in faculty
development at Cook County Hospital. As a clinical professor at the
University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Brown takes particular interest in
medical education and family-centered care. He is an active member of
the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family
Medicine, and the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians. He is fluent
in Spanish, and is married with two children. |
Jacqueline Bardwell, M.D.
Director; family medicine obstetrics
Dr. Bardwell is a native of the Chicago area. She joined the faculty
of the family medicine residency program at Christ Hospital in 1992 after working for five
years at the ANCHOR HMO in Chicago. Dr. Bardwell is a graduate of the University of
Illinois College of Medicine and completed her training in family medicine in 1987 at the
Rush-Christ Hospital Family Practice Residency Program. She is board certified and
recertified in family practice. Her interests include family practice obstetrics,
women's health and
medical student education. She is a certified instructor in advanced
life support obstetrics (ALSO). She has served as co-coordinator for
undergraduate medical education at Christ Medical Center, as medical
director for Anchor Life Weight Management and as medical director for UIHMO. Dr. Bardwell is married and the mother of five children. |

Stephen G. Bennett, M.D.
Director, practice management
Dr. Bennett, a native of Illinois, earned his bachelor's degree at Olivet
Nazarene University. He received his medical training from the University of
Illinois at Chicago, and completed family practice residency at Methodist Medical
Center in Peoria, Illinois. After several years in private practice in the Chicago
area, Dr. Bennett joined the UIC-Christ family practice faculty in 1996. He is board
certified in family practice. His professional interests include practice management
and managed care education, evidence based medicine, and international medicine. He
relishes mentoring his three teenage children. His "spare time"
interests include American history, classical music and astronomy. |
Sangili Chandran, M.D.
Director; sports medicine
Dr. Chandran is a graduate of Madras University, India. He had
training in orthopedics at Madurai University, India. After immigrating to the
United States, he worked as a research associate in the Department of Orthopedics at
Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood. He completed two years of general surgery
residency at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a family practice residency at
Chicago Medical School/Swedish Covenant Hospital, serving as chief resident of the
program. He is board certified in family medicine, and in primary care
sports medicine. His professional memberships include the American
College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association for Sports
Medicine. He serves as team physician for Oak Lawn and Richards
High Schools, and provides preparticipation medical evaluation for athletes
at St. Xavier University in Chicago. Dr. Chandran is fluent in Tamil,
and is married to Dr. Raji Chandran, who is a practicing
pathologist. They have three children. |

Stacey Nickoloff, D.O.
Director; Osteopathic Family Medicine
Dr. Nickoloff completed her residency training at Pittsburgh
Mercy Health System in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She focuses on
osteopathic medicine and women's health, and coordinates the AOA approved
osteopathic internship at Advocate Christ Medical Center. After
receiving her bachelor's degree in biology from Indiana University in
Bloomington, Dr. Nickoloff earned her D.O. degree at Lake Erie College of
Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania, in 2000. Her professional
memberships include the American Osteopathic Association, the American
Academy of Family Physicians, and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Nickoloff has served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the
Women's Health Forum. She has also been part of a team that provided
free screenings to underserved communities, and provided geriatric
preventive medicine in nursing homes and assisted living communities.
Dr. Nickoloff is married and resides in the western suburbs. |
Kimberly Townsend-Scott, M.D.
Dr. Townsend-Scott received her medical school training at Rush
Medical College in Chicago, where she graduated in 1994. She completed
her residency program in 1997 at the West Suburban Family Practice Residency
Program in Oak Park, Illinois. She is board certified in family
practice. After residency, she remained in Oak Park and served the
community for seven years through the PCC Community Wellness Center.
The Illinois native has been an active member of the American Academy of
Family Physicians and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. Her
interests include preventive medicine and women's health. Dr.
Townsend-Scott has been married for 15 years and has three children.

Robert Zitter, Ph.D.
Director; behavioral medicine
Dr. Zitter is a native of Chicago. He is a graduate of West Virginia
University and completed his internship in clinical psychology at Brown Medical School in
Rhode Island in 1979. Dr. Zitter has been on the faculty of the residency program
since 1980. He has held teaching appointments at Rush Medical College, and his
interests include psychosomatic medicine and anxiety disorders. Dr. Zitter is the
director of behavioral medicine for the UIC-Christ Hospital family medicine residency and
also has a private practice. He is active in community service in the south suburbs.
Dr. Zitter and his wife Joanne have two sons. |
