Philip Alcabes is an infectious disease epidemiologist whose research has focused on communicable diseases in urban populations. He has also written on ethics in epidemiologic research and disease-control policy. Alcabes is currently associate professor at the School of Health Sciences of Hunter College, City University of New York, where he coordinates the graduate and undergraduate Community Health Education programs and teaches courses in epidemiology, infectious disease control, and policy. He also holds an appointment at the Yale School of Nursing, where he lectures on research ethics.
