
Timothy F. Murphy is Professor of Philosophy in the Biomedical Sciences at
the University of Illinois College of Medicine and has served as a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Ethics of the American Medical Association. He has received grants from the NIH to lead two national conferences: in 1999, “Research Ethics: Confronting Challenges in the Next Millennium” and in 2001, “Research Ethics at the Frontiers of Medicine.” He is the editor of Justice and the Human Genome Project and author of Gay Science: The Ethics of Sexual Orientation Research. His most recent book is Case Studies in Biomedical Research Ethics.
