National Nanotechnology Initiative
The National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI)
is a federal R&D program established to
coordinate the multiagency efforts in
nanoscale science, engineering, and
technology.
National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network
The National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network
(NNIN) is an integrated partnership of thirteen user facilities,
supported by NSF.
NASA
NASA Ames nanotechnology effort started in early 1996
and has steadily grown to establish a Center for Nanotechnology.
National Science Foundation
U.S. Department of Energy: Office of Science
The Department of Energy's Office of Science is
pioneering the new field of nanoscience, the study
of matter at the atomic scale.
National Institutes of Health
While much of biology is grounded in nanoscale
phenomena, NIH has not re-classified most of its
basic research portfolio as nanotechnology.
European Union NanoForum
Nanoforum was originally funded by the European Commission through FP5. Since July 2007 it has been operating as a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG), giving it legal status and the ability to enter into contracts with other parties, including tenders and new EU-funded projects.
