CPR Name Change
CPR Faculty Awarded NHLBI Grant
Dr. Edith Nutescu, Co-Director of CPR, is the principal investigator on a recently awarded K-23 grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institue of Health. The objective of the project is to study health disparities and factors influencing adoption and feasibility of anticoagulation self-monitoring in minority and undeserved patients. New Takeda Professorship Takes Aim at improving Medication adherence
The UIC College of Pharmacy, the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research (CPR), and the Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy (PSOP) are pleased to announce the new Takeda Professorship in Medication Adherence.  Made possible by financial support from the Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, the Professorship is part of a broader partnership between the College and Takeda to conduct research and programs to improve medication adherence, which also includes a new 2-year fellowship program in medication adherence organized through the CPR.  Dan Touchette, PharmD, MS, Associate Professor in PSOP, and faculty member in the CPR, will be awarded the professorship.  Dr. Touchette has been studying medication adherence for a number of years and this professorship and the partnership with Takeda will provide critical support and collaboration needed to tackle this challenging and complex issue in health care.
