Another Botanical Center excursion on Lake Michigan took place this month. Professor Don Waller who serves on the UIC / NIH Botanical Center External Advisory Committee once again treated Botanical Center faculty, students and staff to an excursion on Lake Michigan on his sail boat . The unusually balmy weather, reaching a high of 84 degrees - uncommon for Chicago in October - made the four hour boat trip on the Lake a relaxing event enjoyed by all. For some it was a first time adventure on Lake Michigan, and for others a chance to steer a 35-foot sail boat. Dinner at the yacht club sponsored by Dr. Norman Farnsworth, Botanical Center Director, followed.
