A recent Ph.D. in biomedical sciences is required. Experience with immunohistochemistry or immunocytochemistry (indicate publications) is especially preferred.Our research focus is on opioid pharmacology, signal transduction, and treatment of chronic pain, addiction, depression, and insomnia. The forensic science group within the Department of Biopharmaceutical Sciences (BPS, College of Pharmacy, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), manages and operates an Animal Forensic Toxicology Laboratory (AFTL). The AFTL is responsible for testing blood and urine specimens from winning racehorses at all the tracks in Illinois for evidence of prohibited substances, or prohibited levels of regulated substances.

We are seeking an experienced Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our laboratory in the Department of Biopharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Our research focuses on mechanisms of multidrug resistance in human tumors, roles of splicing factors and microRNAs in tumorigenesis, and discovery and development of novel molecular targets and biomarkers in ovarian and breast cancer.
- Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular, cellular or cancer biology, or a related discipline
- Substantial research experience with recombinant DNA - epigenetic/molecular biology experiments, cell culture techniques, and animal models
- Must have at least one first author peer-reviewed publication in top quality journal
- Experience with tumor stem cell biology is a plus
