Information for Current Students

Ph.D. Degree Requirements

In addition to the Graduate College minimum requirements, student must meet the following requirements. The student must complete 96 semester hours of post-baccalaureate coursework (further described below), the departmental oral and written proposal exam, a dissertation and open, oral defense.

Other BPS Course Requirements

Students must register for BPS 595 (seminar) every semester for a minimum of 8 hours. At least 20 hours must be in 500-level didactic courses. A minimum of 14 credit hours of 400-500 level elective courses. For further information, please consult the Department of Biopharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Student Handbook.

Examinations

  • An oral Preliminary Examination is required, typically after the second year.
  • An oral and written proposal is required to be presented before the thesis committee.
  • An open, oral dissertation defense is required to be presented in conjunction with the written dissertation.

M. S. Program
